Your data, kept simple.

This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It's short because we collect very little.

Who we are

SkitalWebDesign is a web design studio based in Dublin, Ireland. [LEGAL NAME OR TRADING NAME, BUSINESS ADDRESS]. We are the data controller for any personal information collected through this website. You can reach us at skitalwebdesign@gmail.com or on 089 208 2539.

What we collect, and why

The contact form

When you send a message through the contact form we receive the details you type in: your name, email address, and anything you choose to add, such as a phone number, business name, business type, budget and your message. We use these only to reply to you and to discuss your project. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry, and, once we're working together, the contract between us.

The form is processed by Netlify, the company that hosts this website. Netlify stores submissions on our behalf and includes a hidden spam-protection field that human visitors never see. Netlify's own privacy policy is at netlify.com/privacy.

Email, phone and WhatsApp

If you email, call or message us, we keep the conversation for as long as it's useful to your enquiry or project. WhatsApp is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy.

Server logs

Like every website, ours is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard technical logs, such as the IP address and browser type of each request, for security and to keep the service running. We don't use these to identify individuals.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies and uses no analytics that identify you. [IF YOU ADD ANALYTICS LATER, NAME THE SERVICE HERE]

The site remembers your light or dark mode preference in your browser's local storage if you use the theme switch. That stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Fonts, images and scripts are all served from this website's own address. Nothing on the page is loaded from an advertising or social network.

Payments

If you become a client and pay by card, the payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. Bank transfer details are kept in our accounts records as the law requires.

How long we keep information

Enquiries that don't turn into projects are deleted within twelve months. Client records, including invoices, are kept for as long as Irish tax law requires, which is currently six years after the end of the relevant year.

Who we share it with

Nobody, except the service providers named above who help us run the site and take payments, and only for those purposes. We don't sell or rent personal information.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. Email skitalwebdesign@gmail.com and we'll respond within a month. If you're not happy with our answer you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this page

If we change how the site handles personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
